Scoutmaster Moment
What a beautiful weekend for camping!  The brief dinner time rain shower merely reinforced how nice the weekend really was.  Scouts did great with a trail ride that included some wildlife.  They also learned about horse care and common health concerns.  The next few weeks are full of Scouting activity opportunities, be sure to read through carefully for the fun to be had!
There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.

Group size is limited, we need anyone interested to sign up quickly before slots are filled.  We attended this event 2 years ago, while it is a new location this year I expect Seneca District to host a fantastic event again.  Last time there was a giant catapult, knife throwing, puzzles, 2-man saws, and much more. Final cutoff for this sign up is 9/28
Adults: we have a parent from 893B to pull the trialer, but still need a grub master for the Big Dogz please see me if interested

893 Klon-Bike Derby, Saturday October 2nd
First ever bike derby event! Complete the circuit and challenges along the way. See attached flyer for details.
Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA), Saturday October 16th

Troop 893 will be operating a JOTA amateur radio station at the CUMC Activity Field on Saturday October 16th from 10am to 3pm. Scouts will learn a little about how radios work and get the opportunity to talk to other scouts and radio operators over the radio in other states and maybe even another country. JOTA is also a great introduction to the Radio, Electronics, and Digital Technology merit badges! Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Any scouts or adults interested in helping out should review the flyer and sign up at the link above. If you have any questions contact ASM of Boy’s Troop 893
