Scoutmaster Minute: The Bird Study/Weather merit badge outing was great. The sun was out and multiple bird species were sighted, including this beauty photographed by Mr, Barretto. Take a close look at the talons...take out meal. For those unable to attend, I would encourage you to take a stroll at Neabasco Park when the weather is perhaps a bit warmer and the board walk is open. Beautiful palce to get up close to nature. Scoutmaster Minute: Super Bowl Sunday...The GOAT or The Kid. Who will prevail...only time will tell. I just want to see a good game, and leaning a bit towards Tampa on the principal that old dogs can sill hunt. In terms of Scouting, its looks like MBU is shaping up great and lots of solid work being done on Eagle MBs. We also have multiple scouts working on Bird Study and this wekk covering Weather, plus an outing next Saturday. Scoutmaster Minute The past week is loaded with history for multiple reasons. First, I want to inform everyone that we have two new Eagles in the Girls Troop, Elana Taylor and Megan Staton. Major history as they are among the first young women to earn the Eagle rank. Scoutmaster Minute: I am happy to report that we have locked in 2 outings for the spring, 1) the New Scout Campout (NSC) will be April 16-8 and 2) the Annual Family Canoe trip over Memorial Day weekend. We are using a new location for NSC in Maryland that is just around the corner from Camp David where US President's hang out now and then. We would like to take this opportunity to recalibrate and get all the Scouts in a position to monitor and track their progress...literally put responsibility in the plam of thier hand. The tasks outlined below are designed to support that activity and will help leadership make some informed decisions about how to stucture this years Merit Badge University (MBU).
