Scoutmaster Minute: Wow, what a great Scouting for Food weekend, between both Troops we collected 7,540 pounds of food/supplies. This program makes a huge difference in our community and represents the type of community service that Scouting is known for around the world. The time spent on the bag drop off and the collection are two events that can be used for rank advancement and service hour requirements. Patrols should report, if not already, who participated in the bag drop off and how long that effort took. All in attendance for the collection yesterday should have signed in with Mr. Jobe so we can capture that contribution as well. A Scout is HELPFUL.
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

MEETINGS
Remember that the Patrol assigned to run a meeting also has clean up duty….meaning your Patrol should be the last to leave with approval of SPL and Scoutmaster.
1. This Week Nov 16: Fire Fundamentals (Eagles) @ Activity Field
Uniform Class B (Class A when seeking advancement)
A. Safety Briefing: We will be discussing some fire safety basics since there was an incident on the last campout resulting in an injury. This will begin with a review of the Outdoor Code, the Troop camping permission slip including what should and should not be used for cooking. We will conclude with discussion on how a Scout should respond to an injury in the field, specifically those that may result from fire. Please review page 136-137 of the Scout Handbook.

B. Activity: The Eagles patrol will be setting up a fire competition for each patrol. This will require the use of flint and steel, so each patrol should make sure they come prepared. It is recommended that Scouts review handbook pages 388-390.. Ten essentials will be examined as well (p238-239). Think ahead and be prepared.
2. Next Week Nov 23: Escape Room (Titans) @CUMC Fellowship Hall
Uniform Class B (Class A when seeking advancement)
For this meeting will be back inside, unless Titans decide otherwise. That means all Scouts must be masked per CUMC protocol. Details of the meeting plan are still under development/review.
3. Next Next Week Nov 30: Fire Fundamentals (Pandas) @ Activity Field
Uniform Class B (Class A when seeking advancement)
The Pandas will be facilitating a troop tent inventory in combination with review of proper tent pitching.
