Scoutmaster Minute: The Bird Study/Weather merit badge outing was great. The sun was out and multiple bird species were sighted, including this beauty photographed by Mr, Barretto. Take a close look at the talons…take out meal. For those unable to attend, I would encourage you to take a stroll at Neabasco Park when the weather is perhaps a bit warmer and the board walk is open. Beautiful palce to get up close to nature. The next few weeks will be busy with the continuation of merit badge university (get homework done) and preparing to bring new scouts into the Troop. We did have several AOL Scout join us on the hike this weekend, and looking forward to having them in our family.
In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.

MEETINGS
- This Week – Tuesday FEB 23, 2021: PLC (All Scouts in Leadership)
Uniform – Class A
This week will be a PLC meeting to organize plans to resume face-2-face meetings. This meeting is currently planned to be via ZOOM.
A work plan for the coming 8 weeks thru the April 16-18 New Scout Campout will be the focus of this planning session.
This session will last from 7:00 to 7:50PM, that means you all need to come prepared (meaning read the email sent to the PLC group).
- Troop Elections – Tuesday MAR 9
Uniform – Class A
It is time again to start the transition to the next Scout Leadership Team. All Scouts should be thinking about how they can provide service to the Troop as a leader to give back and help those that have helped them advance.
Elections are held Troop wide for SPL and within a Patrol for Patrol Leader. All other positions require a Scout to add their name to the signup sheet for consideration by the new SPL and Scoutmaster.
Currently only Charlie Schmidt has expressed his interest in the position of Senior Patrol Leader (SPL), if other scouts are interested they should contact me ASAP.
Positions of Responsibility are especially critical for Scouts seeking to advance to Star, Life and Eagle, but many are open to all Scouts. There are many options, so please review the attached document if you’re not familiar with a position or would like to know more. You could also talk to the Scout current in the position. Yes talk, primitive I know, but highly effective when exercised properly.
In all cases you must be present to be considered. If for some reason you are unable to attend please let me know ASAP.
ALL THOSE SELECTED FOR A POSITION WILL BE EXPECTED TO ATTEND LEADERSHIP TRAINING ON SUNDAY, MARCH 21 (backup date is April 11)
