Scoutmaster Minute: Looks like many member of the 893 Family enjoyed a great weekend on the river. I am looking forward to the stories.

1. This Week May 28 – Troop Night (Land Sharks)
Uniform: Class B
The Land Sharks have conducted several “market research surveys” to assess options for a fun activity night. Details to follow, but plan to have some fun out on the activity field.
2. Next Week June 4 – Summer Camp Paperwork Shakedown
Uniform: Class B
Yes school is almost done and that means summer camp is right around the corner.
It also means that we need completed BSA medical forms ABC which require a trip to the doctor for signature to clear youth and adults for summer camp if attending.
No excuses, No exceptions.
Health Forms: Please ensure that you bring TWO complete copies of your current annualBSA Health and Medical Record, Parts A, B and C with complete immunization records; Part C is completed by your physician (See Attached). You will turn in both copies to the Troop (we will turn-in one copy to the Camp and keep one copy with the Troop at our campsite). You must attach photocopies of your Medical Insurance Card (front & back) to the back of both medical form copies (for both adult and scout medical forms). Just a reminder that the date of your medical form signed by the doctor must be within 1 year of the last day of camp (June 30, 2018). We recommend that you keep the original medical form for yourself. THERE IS NO COPY MACHINE AVAILABLE AT SHAKEDOWN! Be Prepare!
3. Attention Quarter Masters June 1 Troop Shed Cleanup @ Activity Field
Uniform – Class B
All Troop Quartermasters are asked to join several Adult leaders to assist in the Troop shed reorg (aka purge).
We will also take into consideration equipment issues that may need to be addressed with patrol gear.
4. Eagle Court of Honor June 2 – Benjamin Powers
Uniform – Class A
Members of Troop 893 are invited to attend Benjamin Powers Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 1:30pm. (see attached)
Location is the Centreville United Methodist Church Activity Field, 6400 Old Centreville Road, Centreville, VA 20121
5. 893 Summer Climbing Program
Uniform – Class B
Since we have trained climbing instructors and gear, ASM Adam Weisz, will be leading several climbing outings on the first Saturday of each month (see attached for dates, location and permissions).
This is great opportunity and I will speak from experience that Great Falls/Mather Gorge is a blast. Buzzard Rock was big hit will the group that climbed during the March campout.
