Scoutmaster Moment
Tuesday’s meeting plan shifted in response to observations during last weekend’s campout with a noted need to review the troop cleaning procedures and give a thorough cleaning to the chuckboxes. All patrols from both the troops thoroughly cleaned the checkboxes and reviewed the 3-pot cleaning method as well as stove and griddle cleaning procedures. Fresh air cooking at a campout is fun; getting ill from poor sanitary practices while camping is never, ever fun. Healthy campers are happy campers.
Although we take it for granted, sanitation is a physical measure that has probably done more to increase human life span than any kind of drug or surgery.

TROOP MEETING/ACTIVITY OUTLOOK
This Week – 11/17 – PLC

Scouts in a position of responsibility are expected to attend. This PLC will be a continuation of the one started at ILST on 10/25, I have sent out a separate note with the list of activities discussed then. We are looking to choose activities and set the schedule for troop meetings and for outings.
All scouts should be in Class A uniform, with their handbook, as well as paper & pen/pencil. Scouts in leadership positions should be prepared to provide an update of their activities in that position supporting the troop (what is completed, what may be needed).
