Scoutmaster Minute: Service to Others. We had some excellent teamwork this past week while performing service around the grounds of CUMC to clean up the sidewalks and parking areas from debris that had accumulated over the past year. Due to a generous donation of 6 tons of gravel from Luck Stone, we now have a great location for the Troop trailer at the activity field. Multiple Scouts participated and as you can see from the photos…many hands make light work.

MEETINGS/ACTIVITIES
Those attending any Troop related activity must comply with the following (additional details attached):
Sick individuals must stay home
Individuals must take their temperature the day of the gathering and may NOT attend if their temperature is greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.
Face coverings are required for all individuals at any gathering and must be worn for the entire duration of the gathering.
No one with symptoms of COVID-19 or known exposure to COVID-19 in the prior 14 days is allowed to attend any gathering.

1. This Week AUG 25: Patrol Leadership Council (All Scouts in a Leadership Position) @ Activity Field
Uniform – Class A

Bring a Chair, Water Bottle, Pen/Pencil

Patrol Leaders and others in positions of responsibility should arrive with one or more meeting plan/activity using the attached template.
Since we will likely have New Scouts joining us over the next several weeks, a few of the meetings should be oriented with their participation in mind.

PRIORITY: The attached meeting plan template will be used by ASM Programs and SPL for all meetings. If you can bring a draft to the PLC meeting, it will improve the flow and allow us to look ahead a little further to some other events.

2. Upcoming Weeks
Uniform – Class A or B depending on activity planned
Upcoming meeting plans will be determined at the PLC meeting this week with each patrol taking responsibility for planning and implementation.
All Scouts should begin thinking ahead to the next leadership term that will begin October 1 and what position they will take to help guide the Troop forward. All Scouts in a new leadership position will be expected to attend training currently planned for October 4.
Scouts should also be planning to finalize rank and merit badge advancement paperwork prior to the September 15 meeting for recognition at the fall Court of Honor planned for October 6.
