1. This Week July 14: Hike Manassas Battlefield (LandSharks)
Uniform: Class B
The Land Sharks have planned a nice evening hike to get us together again in the outdoors which also allows for plenty of social distancing.
Everyone must have a mask to participate. All should have a water bottle and a small snack is recommended. Proper footwear is recommended, as we may get rain prior to the hike, see also the gear list below.
## Nova Corp attendance will count as an activity.
All Scouts must bring the attached permission slip signed, even if a parent is participating.
WHEN: 7:00 – 8:30pm, Tuesday, July 14 (please arrive on time)WHERE: Manassas Battlefield Visitor Center, 6511 Sudley Rd, Manassas, VA
WHAT: Henry Hill Loop Trail (1.2 miles) is perhaps the most popular hike in Manassas National Battlefield Park. The loop is one of five hiking trails that trace the First Battle of Manassas.
GEAR: There are ten essential items that a scout should have while hiking or camping outdoors.All of these items should fit into a large Ziploc bag and should be carried by the scout whenever they go hiking or on a campout. They include:
- Pocket knife (3″ folding blade)
- First-aid kit
- Extra clothing
- Rain gear
- Water bottle (32oz Nalgene recommended)
- Flashlight/Headlamp
- Trail food
- Matches and fire starters
- Sun protection
- Map and compass

We are hoping to get us back to the activity field soon and scheduled some service projects around CUMC.

3. Eagle Project – Bryan Hong Saturday, July 18, 11:00 AM
Bryan is seeking support to help him contract a shed for fire safety tools and equipment at Saint Paul Chung Korean Catholic Church, 4712 Rippling Pond Drive, Fairfax, VA 22033.
Scout’s will be expected to follow standard safety protocols, including wearing a mask during the project and maintaining social distancing.See attached fly for additional information and RSVP.## Nova Corp participation will count as an activity and grant service hours.
