Weather is shifting into fall so be prepared. As we will continue to use the activity field as much as possible, the temps are cooler and it get dark quickly, so please dress appropriately and ideally bring a flashlight or headlamp.

1. This Week Oct 22 – Survival Shelters 101 (Land Sharks) @ Activity Field
Uniform Class A
In preparation for Novembers Mission Impossible the Land Sharks Patrol will be providing opportunity to learn a fundamental survival skill…how to build a shelter. This will be a working station at Mission Impossible so excellent chance to works on EDGE skills and get some practical scoutcraft knowledge that is part of the Wilderness Survival MB.
2. Next Week Oct 29 – Spooky Scout Mystery (Phoenix)
Uniform Class A
Scouting Spirits will be afloat for this meeting. Details pending.
3. Service Hours
A. Max Carper Eagle Project, Saturday October 26, 10:00am
This project will construct cornhole sets for Westfield High School’s Senior Courtyard. The project will be hosted at 15447 Martins Hundred Drive. See attached flyer and talk with Max at the next meeting.
B. Robert Taylor Eagle Project, Sunday, November 3, 9:00am
This project will building and repairing wood palettes for the WFCM Community Food Bank and in preparation for Scouting for Food deliveries on Nov 9. See attached flyer and talk with Robert at the next meeting.
C. Scouting For Food – Nov 2 & Nov 9
Please mark your calendars to support the bag drop on Saturday Nov. 2 and food collection on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Each patrol will be assigned a neighborhood in which they will distribute bags and then the following week pickup donations. This effort requires adult coverage and support for safety and transportation, including pickup.
D. Grace Ministries
CUMC has a monthly program held on the 2nd Saturday of each month, with prep the Friday night before hand, help is needed at both the Friday set up and on Saturday morning to bring goods to cars
