Scoutmaster Minute
This past week we installed the new Scout Leadership team that will run the program for the next 6 months under Senior Patrol Leader Matthew Sezen’s guidance. They are committed and have developed a plan of action and are working toward implementation. Looking forward to seeing what these young men can do over the next few months.
Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans.

1. This Week Oct 8 – Camporee Prep & Shakedown (Eagles)
Uniform Class A
The Eagles has developed a meeting plan that will build on prior signals and codes skills, which will be needed for those attending the camporee and perhaps during Mission Impossible. The Scouts attending will become a patrol and use this time to prep for the Mountain Man Rendezvous Camporee/ Make sure you bring $15 for the grubmaster. This should include planning to make a Patrol flag.
2. Troop Outing Oct 11-13 – Mountain Man Rendezvous
Uniform – Class A/B
Please arrive at CUMC on Friday, 10/11 by 6:00pm ready to go and with a signed permission slip (attached).
I think we will have enough drives but always good for parents to wait to be sure we have seats for everyone.
Lots of great activities and competitions all day Saturday.
The Troop will return Sunday morning and not likely to arrive until Noon.
3. Next Week Oct 15 – Survival Fire 101 (Pandas)
Uniform Class A
In preparation for Novembers Mission Impossible the Panda Patrol will be providing a challenge on one of the most fundamental skills in scoutcraft – fire. Over the next week get your resources ready (tinder, kindle, fuel). The key step often overlooked is proper tinder and lack of kindling (not enough gathered).
4. Next Next Week Oct 22 – Survival Shelters 101 (LandSharks)
Uniform Class A
In preparation for Novembers Mission Impossible the LandSharks Patrol will be providing opportunity to learn a fundamental survival skill…how to build a shelter.
