Scoutmaster Minute: Thank you mom for signing my up for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, taking me to meetings, being a Den Mother, sewing on my patch’s, washing muddy cloths after campouts, sending me to summer camp, helping me see the way of Akela and Baden-Powell.

Thank you mom for believing and supporting me.

Happy Mother’s Day.

All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.

Abraham Lincoln

  • Camping & Meals

o   We will camp on the Downriver Canoe Company owner’s property very near the launch point for Day 1.

o   Families and/or Patrols may plan to combine efforts for meals. This is great opportunity for Nova Corp Patrol members to fulfill camping nights, meal planning and preparation requirements in coordination with ASM Chritian Wilson. If you haven’t worked with another family on meal planning, then your family must assume that it will do all meal planning, purchase, preparation, and cleanup on its own.

o   Meals to plan include Friday dinner (perhaps on the road), Saturday breakfast, a lunch/snack on the river, dinner, Sunday breakfast, and lunch snack on the river.  Bring money for a meal on the way home.

o   Class B uniforms will be worn while traveling and for Troop assemblies.

o   NO POTABLE WATER IS AVAILABLE AT OUR CAMPSITE.  BRING YOUR OWN ADEQUATE WATER SUPPLY FOR IN CAMP AND ON THE RIVER.

o   This is a Porta-Potty Operation!

  • The River

o   Saturday morning we will canoe about 11 miles to the half-way point (Compton Rapids) and then will be bussed back to the campsite.

o   Sunday, we will be bussed back to Compton Rapids, canoe about 11 more miles to the end point at the Downriver Canoe Company, bussed back to our campsite, break camp and pack up, and depart for home late Sunday afternoon.
