Scoutmaster Minute
This Friday was the 162nd birthday of Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouting Movement. Today was the final day of Troop 893’s 2019 Merit Badge University, the first in which girls as members of a US troop were able to participate in and now bring “BP’s” vision to everyone.  Every scout in the Girls Troop attended at least one badge offering this year.  Well done!
This week – 2/26 – Troop Meeting (8-9pm)
Uniform: Class A (tan shirt)
Location: CUMC
Knot Relay game, Cyberchip presentation together to the troop (by girls grades 6 and up), knife safety discussion, and conferences.
Patrol name/patch voting!  Everyone should bring 3 patrol name ideas (sent to me in advance), good sources of inspiration can be found at BSA store (scoutstuff.org), ClassB.com, and Patchtown.com.  Google may help you find others.  Remember, existing patches can be source of an idea, there is no requirement to go by their name! Please send ideas to me if you have not yet, I’ve heard from a number of scouts, but not all so far.
I will compile all responses (remember to send me your links!) so the troop can vote.
