Scoutmaster Minute: This meeting marked the first time all the girls were together and in uniform, so pictures were taken. We discussed meeting planning and walked through planning the next meeting together, more meeting planning to come.
The Website has been getting some updates, be sure to look at it. The calendar is also getting filled in and can be subscribed to, TroopMaster has the primary calendar (the website takes a day or so to sync with TM)
This week – no meeting
We would meet on Saturday according to our schedule, MBU is wrapping up and a number of adults are attending University of Scouting
Next week – 2/26 – Troop Meeting (8-9pm)
Uniform: Class A (tan shirt)
Location: CUMC
Knot Relay game, Cyberchip presentation together to the troop (grades 6 and up), and conferences.
Patrol voting! Everyone should bring 3 patrol name ideas (sent to me in advance), good sources of inspiration can be found at BSA store (scoutstuff.org), ClassB.com, and Patchtown.com. Google may help you find others. Remember, existing patches can be source of an idea, there is no requirement to go by their name!
I will compile all responses (remember to send me your links!) so the troop can vote.
Merit Badge University
Final weekend is 2/24. Attend your sessions and be sure to stay on top of any assigned homework. Some badges will finish up on the 24th, some will have follow-on field trips and others may be partial until you complete them.
Be sure to come prepared and follow up as needed.
Invitation: Pack 893 Pinewood Derby (2/21)
Members of Troop 893 are invited to race in the Renegade Pinewood Derby, Thursday, February 21st. Cub Scout races begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Centre Ridge Elementary School Cafeteria, and Renegade races will follow. The Renegade Class is open to ANYONE (Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, Mom, Dad, Sister, Uncle, etc.) who can meet the following rules:

- Prefer that the car be based on an official BSA Pinewood Derby Kit.
- The car must fit on the track.
- The car must not damage the track.
- The car cannot interfere with other cars during a race.
- The car must not be dangerous to operate.
If you plan to participate, please register by sending an e-mail to Dave Weisz (david.weisz@verizon.net). Volunteer support is also needed to help set up starting at 6:30 and help with the Pack races starting at 7:00.
Sully District Pinewood Derby Request for Service (Sunday 3/3)
The Sully District Pinewood Derby is on Sunday, 3 March at St. Timothy’s church in Chantilly. sit at the end of the race track and after each race take the cars back to the impound area. 2 Scouts per track, the race will have two tracks. Show time would be at set up at 1000 AM, races start at 1300. Race should be done and gone by 5PM. The time can be split among more than one scouts.
Currently 2 more full-day scout slots need to be filled. If you are interested, please let me know and what your availability is – support from girls troop was specifically requested by the race coordinators and would be great recruitment visibility for us. This time will count as Service Hours. Class A uniform would be expected.
