Scoutmaster Minute – A Scout is Reverent
Today CUMC held their Scout Sunday and the 893 Scouting Family represented well with members of the Pack, Boys Troop, Crew and the announced debut of the Girls Troop. Elena, Ms Kathy and Caitlin all came out be recognized by the church as representatives of the troop and thank the congregation for their support at the 9:30, 11:00 and 11:02 services. Mr. Adere announced that the Girls Troop is now part of the CUMC Scouting Family and I was able to say a few words -and put in a recruitment plug.

We will continue to go over many of the requirements for Scout rank, hopefully wrapping up the bulk of them. The Scout rank is full of Scout BSA basic info. Keep reading your Scout Handbook, the book is full of good stuff! We’ll also talk about some more tips on keeping scout stuff organized.
- Pages 11-20, 27, 413-418
- With a parent or guardian:
- Complete the exercises in the front pamphlet of your Handbook (How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parents Guide)
- Complete the CyberChip for your grade: https://www.scouting.org/training/youth-protection/cyber-chip/
- The CyberChip has a presentation/teaching component for Grades 6-12, we can accomplish this by the girls working together and sharing components of a presentation at an upcoming meeting (will discuss more this week)
Next week – No Troop Meeting
We would normally try to meet on Saturday, but MBU is taking up part of the weekend already. Use this week to be ready for your MBU sessions
Later meeting: Feb 26 – Troop Meeting (8-9pm)

Knots and conferences – wrapping up Scout rank 🙂
