Scoutmaster Minute: The month of February is in steeped Scout history. The Boy Scouts of America was officially found on February 8, 1910. Nearly 109 years later, CUMC chartered a new troop for girls as part of the expanded Scouting BSA family. An added bonus was that several young women were welcomed into the CUMC Scouting family by their brothers. I had the honor of inducting Andrea Schuetz as the new Scoutmaster to guide these young women on their Journey to Eagle. Each Troop will operate independently, but will leverage leadership and guidance from the current Troop and Venturing Crew.
Several other Scouts were busy over the weekend building some picnic tables as part of a Eagle Project.
Finally, please be on the lookout for the summer camp email for details and key dates.
