Scoutmaster Minute:  Wow…what an awesome weekend at Mission Impossible. We had a nice showing from area Arrow of Light scouts interested in joining our Troop. ASM Wilson facilitated a series of stations manage by our very own Scouts that all got good reviews from participants. I am hopeful that many of those young Scouts return to us in the spring. The evening program prepared by ASM Pschigoda generated quite a bit of enthusiasm, testing our Scouts skills and wit to problem solve and work as a team. Ultimately they struck “gold” and earn themselves the first issue of Troop 893’s wooden coins developed by ASM Morrow. Big, big thank you for all the adult support that made this event special for our Scouts. Even with the chilly temps and mud, I saw lots of smiles and laughter. Of course the freshly made doughnuts from ASM Treat may have helped, we even had a European hornet get in on the good eats (the only true hornet in North America).

1. This Week Nov 20 – Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) – All Scouts in Position of Responsibility
Uniform: Class A
Patrol Leaders should arrive with one or more meeting plan/activity prepared. All Scouts can offer ideas for a meeting activity and should support their Patrol Leader. The link below can help with meeting plan ideas that provide a combination of scout skills and fun. The attached meeting plan template will be used by ASPL Programs, PLs and SPL for all meetings. If you can bring one or more these completed to the July 24 meeting it will improve the flow and perhaps allow us to look ahead a little further to some other events.

USE YOUR RESOURCES!!!   http://www.programresources.org/activities/

Scouts in a Position of Responsibility will also be reviewing communications and progress with respective position goals and responsibilities.

Keep in mind that participation matters…no action no credit.

2. Next Week Nov 27 – Iron Chef Thanksgiving (LandSharks) @ Activity Field
Uniform: Class B

LandSharks are planning to extend the Thanksgiving festivities with an Iron Chef activity…the final details/plans are forthcoming.

3. Next Next Week Dec 4 – Skit Contest (Eagles)
Uniform: Class A

Each Patrol should start coming up with a list of skits for a little competitive theatrics at this meeting. This will likely service as an excellent showcase for options the Troop may like to share during the next Klondike Derby, New Scout Campout or perhaps Summer Camp. This could also be great planning opportunity for Scouts working towards the Communication MB. Scouts are reminded again to use their resources and be prepared!
