1. This Week Nov 13 – Mission Impossible Station Prep/Review @ Activity Field (ALL)
Uniform: Class A

Part 1.  Arrow of Light Scout Station Review/Planning
On Saturday, Nov 17 from 12:30-4:30 we have invited AOL Scouts from area Packs to visit our Troop and experience some fun activities while also giving our Scouts the opportunity to teach and use the EDGE method. During the regular Troop meeting on Nov 13 each patrol will rotate thru the following stations to review the skills that will be covered. The SPL and ASM New Scouts will then decide which patrol will run the station at the event.
1. Ax yard and log drag using timber hitch
2. Fire building and camp cooking
3. Rescue line toss with bowline and heaving line knots
4. Water bottle rockets
5. Owl pellets
6. There is a special 6th station that shall remain a secret and will be open to AOL Scouts
Part 2.  Shakedown
Each patrol will develop their meal plans, if they have not already done so. ###Each will be cooking Saturday diner using a Dutch Oven…repeat Diner must be cooked in a Dutch Oven.
These are some of the best meal I ever experienced in Scouting, super easy and forgiving. Those needing to be grubmasters should just on this ASAP and contact your Patrol Leader and come to the Tuesday, Nov 13 meeting with a plan.
Even if your plan is not used this time, you will be prepared for the next outing. Here is a link to some recipes…pay attention to servings and multiple as necessary.

2. Mission Impossible Campout @ Izaak Walton League: Nov 16-18
Uniform: Class A
This event is divided into 2 distinct session

Part 1. Recruitment of Arrow of Light Scouts – Nov 17, 12:30-4:30
We have invited AOL Scouts from area Packs to visit our Troop and experience some fun activities while also giving our Scouts the opportunity to teach and use the EDGE method. The AOL will rotate thru the stations listed above throughout the afternoon. Patrols will begin preparing dutch oven dinner at 4:30 and integrate any AOL Scouts that plan to stay for diner.
Part 2. Troop 893 Scouts will seek “The One Essential Item”  – Nov 17, 4:30-till done.
While working on the restoration of the Sir Issac Walton hotel, a wall was opened up to reveal a cryptic code and newspaper clippings of a train robbery in 1849 that yielded a treasure and has never been recovered. The train hold up took place within blocks of the Hotel located in Montana. However, historians tracked the bandits to a few nights stay at the hotel and confirmed they traveled south to Centreville from the names in the hotel ledger. The Sheriff has requested your troop to help to speed up the search.  However, they do not want the locals and employees to know what you are up to. Patrols must complete a few challenges using a special scout tool in order to get the cryptic code. Only then will you be able to identify the spot in the woods within the vicinity of the local chartered Issac Walton Park where they buried the treasure that has yet to be found to this day.
Patrols will have a fixed period of time after diner (~3hr) to find the treasure before the employees at the park are keen to what your up to. Through detective work, some fine scout skills and old-fashioned sneakiness its possible you and your group can STRIKE GOLD.
NOTE: This is the session that ASM Ryan Pschigoda was seeking adult volunteers to help man a few stations.

3. Next Week Nov 20 – Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) – All Scouts in Position of Responsibility
Uniform: Class A
Patrol Leaders should arrive with one or more meeting plan/activity prepared. All Scouts can offer ideas for a meeting activity and should support their Patrol Leader. The link below can help with meeting plan ideas that provide a combination of scout skills and fun. The attached meeting plan template will be used by ASPL Programs, PLs and SPL for all meetings. If you can bring one or more these completed to the July 24 meeting it will improve the flow and perhaps allow us to look ahead a little further to some other events.
