1. This Week July 17 – Land Sharks @ Activity Field
     Uniform – Class B
This underlying theme is associated with engineering, ingenuity, and cooperation. Also reminder that we are at the activity field, bring water, consider bug spray, and rain gear as needed.
Following the activity planned by the Land Sharks, Patrols will take to some to look ahead at future meeting and share ideas with Patrol Leader ahead of the PLC meeting on July 24.
2. Next Week July 24 – PLC Meeting
     Uniform – Class A
Patrol Leaders should arrive with one or more meeting plan/activity prepared. The link below can help with meeting ideas that provide a combination of scout skills and fun. The attached meeting plan template will be used by ASPL Programs, PLs and SPL for all meetings. If you can bring one or more these completed to the July 24 meeting it will improve the flow and perhaps allow us to look ahead a little further to some other events.
Need ideas…then take a look at http://www.programresources.org/activities/
We will also be reviewing communications and progress with position goals and responsibilities.
3. Family Canoe Trip July 27-29

As you are all aware, the 45th Annual Family Canoe Trip has moved dates to July 27-29.  River looks to be in good shape so we should have a ton of fun and the water will be much warmer then the usual trips 🙂

In order for us to organize the trip with Downriver Canoe, we need to get an updated count of who will be going and who will not.  Please follow the instructions in the below options that best fit your situation.

NOTE: All paperwork, payments, and refund requests are due by Tuesday, July 17th.  Due to the complexity of organizing this event, we will not be able to handle any exceptions to the deadline.

Option 1 – FAMILY STILL GOING, NO CHANGES!

If your family has no change in your original participation registration, payment, or paperwork, then your good to go and do not need to do anything, we will see you at the river.

Option 2 – FAMILY NO LONGER GOING

If your family will not be participating at all, then please send an email to both our Trip Coordinator Steve Barnett (heather.steven137@gmail.com) and our Troop Treasurer Knut Skare (kskare@skares.com) to request a refund for the trip.  We will not be able to refund your money if we do not here from you before the July 17th deadline since you will have committed to canoeing with Downriver Canoe Company.

Option 3 – FAMILY GOING, BUT NEED TO ADD or DROP MEMBERS

If you need to make changes to your registration (i.e. adding or dropping members) then you should email both our Trip Coordinator, Steve Barnett (heather.steven137@gmail.com) and Paul Taylor (paul@paul-taylor.com) with the details of your changes.  Please note, if you are adding members then all paperwork (see attached forms) will need to be completed and turned in along with additional payment by the July 17th due date.  If you are dropping members, we will work with you to get your refund issued with the Troop Treasurer.

Option 4 – FAMILY WASN’T GOING BEFORE, BUT CAN NOW

If your family wasn’t able to go originally but is now able, GREAT!  We strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this great weekend family activity.  The scenery is awesome.  On past trips we have sited black bears, bald eagles, great blue heron, Orioles, lots and lots of turtles.  The easiest way to register your family would be for you to follow the original instructions in the email below.  Please feel free to contact our Trip Coordinator, Steve Barnett (heather.steven137@gmail.com) and Paul Taylor (paul@paul-taylor.com) if you have any questions.  Be sure to complete your registration before the July 17th deadline.

Both Steve and Paul will be at the Troop meeting on the 17th to accept final paperwork and payments.

Thanks for your help in getting us back on track for the trip.

4. Service Hours with Grace Ministries

Saturdays (7:45 to 10:30 AM) include, registration (Spanish speakers needed), hospitality – setting out refreshments, helping guests take their goods to the vehicles, and clean up.
