1. This Week is a Patrol Leaders Council: May 8 (PLC)
     Uniform – Class A

All Scouts in leadership positions should attend this meeting to review progress on position goals, refine plans for upcoming Troop meetings and events. The Leadership Team will review the New Scout Campout and action they can take as a team to continue putting forward a great program.

Scouts that are not in a leadership position, but in need of leadership support (Scout or Adult) for rank or merit badge work may also attend. Scouts seeking this support should notify me and the SPL Nick Thurston (nsthurs@gmail.com) as soon as possible. This is also be a time that a Board of Review can be scheduled with the Advancement Chair, David Treat (advancement893@hotmail.com).

2. Next Meeting – Iron Chef: May 8 (Pandas) @ Activity Field
  Uniform – Class B
Patrols will be putting their fire building skills to work for cooking at this meeting. Each Patrol will be provided with mystery ingredient that must be included in the meal preperation. This is going to be a strictly aluminum foil cooking competition, so Patrols should plan ahead and bring the food items they need.
While meals are cooking Patrols will be asked to demonstrate various knot tying skills. Each will be graded where a square may earn 1pt and a trucker’s hitch 4pts (example only).
Pandas are seeking 3-4 to bring fire pits, please confirm with Brady Connor <brady.conner@gmail.com>.
3. Ordeal Success
We are very proud of our Troop 893 Scouts who completed their Order of Arrow Ordeal this weekend: Bryan Hong, Brian Staton, Lane Meyer, Benjamin Powers, Robert Taylor, and Mikey Hannett. Our Troop OA Representative, Matthew Sezen was their Elangomat (which means friend, similar to the Patrol Leader) during the Ordeal.
